Lincoln High School hosted its first-ever invitational wrestling tournament on January 11th, 2019. The event was organized to offer local Varsity, Girls, and JV wrestlers an opportunity to get some matches and growth. Legendary Wrestler, Lee Kemp, a 3X NCAA Champion, and 3X World Champion gave an inspiring speech at the beginning of the tournament and answered a lot of great questions. The event and the wrestling team’s performance is helping put the Mustang program onto the map. The Varsity team finished in 3rd place and only a point out of second out of a field made up of 18 teams. This is excellent especially when you consider only two wrestlers on this team competed last year. The wrestlers and their families did a great job of working with the coaches to set-up, host, and clean-up and we look forward to making this an annual tournament for years to come.
