Lincoln Wrestlers with Medals
The Lincoln Varsity team had a great season debut tournament at the Pinole High School wrestling tournament on December 28, 2019. The Mustangs brought 7 wrestlers to the competition and all 7 won a medal with the team finishing in the top 6. Jacen Canales led the team by going undefeated, pinning all of his opponents, and winning the Outstanding Wrestler Award. Nick Walker and Jose Delacruz both took 3rd place. Walker went 3-1 with two Pins and Delacruz 2-1 with one pin. Frosh Joseph Reising bumped up to Varsity and had his first-ever varsity win and finished in 5th place. Emanuel Gonzales, Juan Esparza, and Jose Perez all won 6th place medals. None of the Lincoln Wrestlers competed last year and Emanuel competed for the first time ever and they did very well considering their lack of mat time.
The Varsity will have one more competition before the AAA Season kicks in and that will be on January 11th, 2020 at home in the first-ever Lincoln Invitational.
